    Hi-Vis dash new style facia

For sale "new style" hi-vis facias.

Price: 15 GBP (incl. domestic shipping)

All new facia have following features:
    - speedo reading in mph and km/h
    - additional icons: "knock" (warning due to recognized engine knock by ecu), "low map" (optional map/boost setting). These icons are very handy with modified ecu (Kenneth v.1.3)
    - additional rear fog light icon
    - optional "LPG" (running in LPG mode) or "meth" (low level of methanol) icons.
    All facias have "tiptronic display.

    Pictures:
    1. GALANT (only with "meth" icon) - 1 available

    2. LEGNUM ("meth" icon) - 6 available
    DSC_0007.JPG

    3. LEGNUM ("LPG" icon) - 1 available
    DSC_0008.JPG

    Fitting instructions.
Due to different material used to produce these facias, following steps are required to get the best results:
    1. Peal off backing tape.
    2. Sand backing surface with sand paper grit 600-800 to achieve matt finish:
    IMAG0408.jpg
    3. Remove stock facia from speedometer, and sand perspex surfaces with sand paper grit 400, in areas circled red as in picture below:

    4. Assembly speedometer with new facia.

You should get effect similar to this one:

You can try to use window tint film (very dark red) and fix it somehow to a backing surface of fascia?

    Also, for those more picky
Green icons are more "yellowish" in reality, so you can use the same method using blue tint film to get more green

    Are these still for sale?

I'm after Galant version with LPG indicator and "engine knock" if possible.

My car is a Manual so how would I go about masking of the Auto bits?

    Cheers

Just re-read the post... you only have Legnum with LPG Icon...

Are these going to be re-produced in the future?

    Not at the moment.
    Minimum order is 10 pieces.
Last time I got big interest in EOI, and in the end I'm left with 7 pieces. I know much better ways of wasting my money

    Anymore takers?
Post #1 need to be updated. Can mod delete those "LPG" dash facias as available no-more?

    More update:
    - green icons: for better visual effect please try LED green bulbs (easy to get from eBay)
    - blue icon (main beam): as above

Just installed this, and agree that the blue (main beam) and green (indicators, lights etc) are more like white and yellow. I'll be looking into those ebay LED jobbies! The only other things to note are: The needles just pull off, but they are a tight fit; The stops for the needles are a bugger to get off the old overlay and don't stay in the new one very well.

Having said all that, I am so far pleased with the potential functionality and the look of the dash.

Has anyone worked out wiring to the rear foglight bulb holder? Or am I going to need to dismantle more to work out what colour cable (if any) goes up to the back of the dash connector?

    Correct Nick.
Just as been said before - LED T5 bulbs (green and blue) are "must be". For needles and stoppers you can use set of electronic steel tweezers. Holes for stoppers in new dash facia are bit bigger so little drop of adhesive to support will do job.

The LED's can wait, TBH. I fitted the dash in a bit of a hurry, as I still don't have a rear foglight and my next MOT is due. I really ought to sort it out! It's been on UK roads for 2 years now!! No-one ever knows what to buy me for presents, so I can ask for the LED's now! The colours aren't wrong enough to annoy me in the meantime.

I didn't glue the needle stoppers - they seem to be holding okay for the moment. I'll glue them if need be though.

One other thing - the backlight for the speedo & rev counter seems to be a bit patchy. Could that potentially be not enough sanding? It's something I may have to try again if it ends up bugging me.

I really like the Legnum on the dash though. That makes me smile! The indicators being an arrow outline looks good. I wasn't sure on the AYC bars being bigger than the facelift dash, but I actually like that too. Easier to see and lines up better with the AYC lettering.

Being told that it can be sorted by painting white nail varnish on back side of perspex where original white patches are (extend them to areas where needed). Sort of correction of white backlight. Haven't done yet tho.

So I have looked at the rear foglight indicator on the cluster, and followed the circuit track to the appropriate socket on the back of the cluster. Looking at the corresponding plug in the cluster housing there is no connection in the plug for that pin - let alone a wire. So I think the next time someone strips a car I will see if I can get a plug and some cable from it to modify mine.

    Hi
does that mean you have a legnum lpg one left?
Never argue with a fool – they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience!

I would like a VR4 one with LPG if you ever order anymore. Will pay up front.
    Too much is just enough.
