    Car to Ground Upgrades

The time is fast approaching, and shopping will soon commence.

Please bear with me, its quite extensive

I've performed several searches with links included where applicable. I'm looking to upgrade/replace pretty much everything from engine to tarmac, and I need some advise, perhaps ive missed some info, or using outdated info?

The following items are not a requirement at this time, however I'd still like some advise.

1.1 - Sticky to road mechanisms.
I've had the switch done on mine, however its failed again, possible because the contacts have eroded as I have fiddled with the pressure valve quite a bit yet the red AYC light O Doom is still visible - So I am considering the following.

AYC Pump / LSD - Buying a AYC Pump brand new is out of the question, at least for the time being. So I was looking into getting on refurbished, or even replacing it with an LSD unit.
LSD - Roger rally stated that improvements to the car include possible less tyre wear, back end will step out a bit - sounds like fun - relevant info 1 - 2 - Full Thread

http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16051 - Brunty had his AYC Pump refurbished, little bit of bother at the start where he thought it wasn't working right, however after a bit it was resolved - Full Thread

1.1 Question: Personally I'm wondering whether spending 1000 quid vs. 450 is a worthwhile investiment.
Brunty, or infact anyone thats had a reburbishemnt done, have you experienced any other issues with the pump, or is it still going strong?

    Links: LSD1 - LSD2 - LSD Full Thread - Reburb1
    Costs: LSD £1000 - Reburf £450

    1.2 - Drive Shafts
I've had both my front drive shafts replaced with second hand ones, however remembering the state of the inside of the green housing on my old ones, I am wondering whether i should just bite the bullet and replace them all with brand new ones. As the second hand ones i bought are possibly heading towards the same fate. Basically the inside of the green housing becomes worn, and a groove is made where the bearing thingy moves up and down this housing, which in turn creates more space, and thus more wobble for want of a better word.

1.2 Question: Has anyone bought any new drive shafts? what did they cost? did you buy direct from mitsubishi or did you find a 3rd party company selling the same shafts? If so what were they called, and what were the costs?

Links - Couldn't find anything regarding costings however im going to call mitsibishi for costs on 4 shafts all round.
Costs: £400 each New from Mitsi

    1.3 - Wheel Bearings
Pretty much for the same reasons as above really, rather than staying with second hand ones and/or original ones I'd like to repace all the wheel bearings.

Links - Costs - Part numbers - Mitshi Costs - Koyo Costs -EVO Alternatives.
    Costs: Cammskill £650 (front/rear x2) - Mitsi £360 (fronts only) - Koyo Costs £75.95 + the Vat each

1.3 Question: Within the Koyo Costs thread it mentions looking for other bearings, to replace the Koyo ones, does this mean they are no good? Has anyone actually fitted this Koyo Kit? Is it still working? and would it be recommended for hard track use? any aditional thoughts?

Are there any other alternatives to the safe bet of buying originals from Mitsubishi?

    1.4 - Hub Carriers
Ill be performing a Brembo upgrade soon, and thus require face lift hub carriers. I'm debating whether to buy brand new (will help when placing the new bearings in) or clean up an old pair.

    Links - Couldn't find anything.
    Costs: as above.

1.4 Question: Has anyone bought them brand new? what did they cost? am I correct in saying that I might as well buy new ABS sensors as well, if I am to buy new ones, or indeed old ones for that matter. what are your thoughts?

I will list them briefly, please note I don't care about comfort, im looking to make a go-kart out of my car. Other than new suspension, wheels and tyres, is there anything else ill need to replace if I want to renew every consumable (if thats the right word) between engine, and road? Ball joints?

    2.1. Anti Roll Bar.
Question: Does anyone have any part numbers, or links, or indeed has anyone got a non standard one fitted.
Links - Part Numbers - Places to buy from
    Cost: /shrug

    2.2. Drop Links.
Question: Does anyone have any part numbers, or links, or indeed has anyone got a non standard one fitted - if so where did you get it from?
    Links - Link 1 - When broken? -
    Costs: No Idea.

    2.3. Poly Bushes.
Question: Still waiting for a reply here - However I would like to know what this kit consists of, exactly.. incase I need to purchase other bushes for the rest of the suspension system.
Links - Poly Bushes Thread - Costs
    Costs: 110.54

Any advise, or additional information ive forgotten, didnt include will be greatly appreciated!

Very Kieran-esque Barry. Does the brake upgrade Marcus has arranged not appeal? I would have thought it's be cheaper than the front Brembo option, and you won't have to fork out for new wheels. Then you can source some rear Brembo 2 pots which bolt straight on anyway.

Have you looked on Taka Kaira for parts such as the ARB?

No, ive always wanted 17" Oz, with Brembos, so to continue plan Trigger Mauve ill continue as i set out 2 years ago

I did think about it though, but im a bit of a brand head, whether worse than xyz or better that xyz i'd prefer to have a brand name i like

That's cool, but I haven't a clue where you'd get the hub carriers from or how much. Another call to Spishi I think, unless Mo comes across any at the right time.

    Found this...

Comparing camskill's parts diagram with my USA CAPS parts diagram(for USDM Eclipse 95-99)...they are identical...part numbers & everything.
Is Timken a good brand ?

    1.2 - Drive Shafts
Drive shafts I could not get any new from anywhere but mitsi say 6 weeks I enquired when i thought i needed a new cv outer in the region of £400 each
    1.3 - Wheel Bearings
I have done the new hub as the bearing to too long to arrive Pre Donnigton last year. Bern brought my refurbed hub with a koyo bearing
if you have really good facilities then do try the bearing only but i found it a pig to do

    1.4 - Hub Carriers
Different brakes instead if buying new but the upgrade to facelift do open up a whole new field of upgrades
    2.1. Anti Roll Bar.
Question: Does anyone have any part numbers, or links, or indeed has anyone got a non standard one fitted.
Links - I know Kieran sourced one, but can't find the link for costs, review and company.
    Cost: /shrug
These are to be listed on RHD this month Cusco Part numbers i have at home
    No longer a VR4 owner

The camskill ones are the Mitsubishi ones... all they do is buy in bulk from Mitsubishi direct and sell at a cheaper price...

I wouldnt buy new. These are solid items as standard and not so prone to wear. Hold out for a 2nd hand set complete with ABS sensors.
