The stand is nearly 1/3 full already! It'd be good to get some more of you guys out on track, though.....

For all of those track day virgins, it really is the safest fun you've had in your car. You drive as fast as you like, surrounded by people who want to drive their cars home, with no pedestrians, no oncoming traffic, no hidden turnings, no tractors/dustbin lorries round a blind corner etc. And there is so much tarmac you wouldn't believe! Check out some of last years videos and you'll get an idea. Being there is so much more fun though!

Just paid for my entry ticket in order to book my stand space! I will be ordering another entry ticket and both track sessions after payday

And I also echo Nick's comments about Japfest and Castle Combe and the CVR4 track sessions to be the best place to venture out on track if you havent already done so. Its the best!

Have to agree with Nick & Atik. I was'nt sure about going on track last year as I was going a long way to get there & back home but I went for it & lost my cherry at Combe.

If your thinking about it & not sure just go for it. Its the most fun you'll have with your trousers on.

Last year I held back & let the faster guys do there think & took my time to get used to the track & everyone that was there last year nows what happened when I got a bit of confidence in the second session.

Any idea what time the track sessions are ?

Would love to come, as I missed last year, but probably won't get there till at least midday... so would do the 2nd one if it's in the afternoon....

It's normally quite late in the day before we know actual times. Sometimes we have been done by lunchtime, other times we aren't off track until 4:30! I can ask the question, but it's unlikely I will get an answer soon.

Do you know where the stand is going to be this year Nick or is that last minute as well?

Sometimes I never know until we arrive!

Apparently the whole site layout is going to be different this year, as there are going to be big representations of many manufacturers. I don't have all the details though.

I think almost everyone here uses their cars as daily family cars. Think of in the sense that these are two 20 minute session where you drive the car hard. As long as your car is in healthy condition, 40minutes of hard driving wont really hurt it in any way. You will wear some of the tyre treads and a bit of your brake pads but otherwise the car should handle everything pretty good.

Ultimately you dont need to drive the car hard at all though. You will be on track with loads of other enthusiastic CVR4 owners who all look after their cars and I can safely say that you wont be bullied out of the way on the track. Go around slowly and just experience it for what it is. A bit of fun in a powerful car in a closed and controlled atmosphere. Beats racing like a loon on the public roads anyway.
