Oil Light Flicker at low revs

    I'm currently experiencing this issue

After a bit of searching a found a few reasons, dump valve, oil pressure and stepper motor - but the threads are from 2007.

I'm going to check the Blow off, i did araldite the plastic vavle several moons ago.

    Anyone got any other ideas/experience?

It could be the oil pressure sensor itself, a few people have had them cause problems.

What you really should be doing though Barry is hooking up an oil pressure gauge.

Yep, as Brad says get an oil pressure gauge on there.

Hopefully, it's just the oil pressure sensor though.

My car does this on 0W30 when it is stoopid hot. And has done since I owned it. I never get it on 5W40 though. I should probably get an oil pressure gauge in too!!

The oil pick-up in your sump might be partially blocked, and seeing as it's fairly easy to check it might be worth looking into.

Is "gratis" cheap enough? Let me know if you still want one.

edit/: Just seen your other thread. Mine would only be a simple test gauge not a nice
    "in-car" type
