Hi Everyone, Firstly, long time not speak - hope you are all doing well and keeping healthy, I'm currently selling my house of 20 years and found some bits and pieces in the garage that could do with being sold to someone who can use them! Secondly, thank you to Nick Mann for taking the time to chat and catch up and also for giving me an idea of costs for the bits you see here. please note: I can't post these things out as I am up to neck with family, work and house sales atm, so...

Hi all, I plan to take my recently acquired Legnum on a roadtrip through Germany in September, including hopefully a bit of tourist driving on the Nurburgring.. For peace of mind, I'm thinking I probably ought to throw some new pads and discs at the car. I'm not a racer, I don't want or need race brakes or suspension, just don't like the idea of going around the ring on older unknown kit! eBay has plenty of options, but just wondering if anybody can attest to anything? EBC is twice the price...

Hi all, Another day another problem! I've got a lot of noise coming from a pulley - if you're looking from the front of the car at the engine, it's to the left of the main engine and underneath I don't know anything about the layout of the engine so I'm sorry for the poor description. I had the cambelt but not the water pp changed when I bought the car (1200 miles ago?) But I have zero trust in the garage that did the work...they told me that the water pump was on a different belt. ...

So after a suggestion from a friend Iv decided to document my galant build. It started off with my airtrek with a blown transfer case. I coudnt get my hands on a replacement transfer case so bought a whole parts car just for the transfer. Since I had a running 4g63t I got the notion to buy another galant and swap the 2.0 turbo into it. I found this beauty of a galant. 2.4 gdi Viento, 4wd and 5 speed auto. Ideal candidate as the 2.4 na is very underpowered. So far Iv the engine...

SOLD Hi Chaps, Bought these Eicher front brake pads by mistake, my vr4 has Brembo calipers, these pads are for stock brakes (I ordered for 1997 Galant, I assume they will fit brake calipers through All the years and will fit both Legnum and Galant? I知 sure someone can confirm). Still wrapped and unused. Rather than chucking these in the bin someone can have them if they are useful, just pay postage. They weigh just under 2kg so could send for 」3 second class. Or tracked 48 for...

howardalex started a thread Injector cleaner? in Engine
Hi all, My vr4 has around 96k on the clock (1600 miles under my ownership!). I'm considering running some injector cleaner. I run him exclusively on Tesco momentum 99 octane, he's running amsoil 0w-40 Any recommendations on which one? Or are you going to tell me to swerve it entirely? I get around 110 miles per tank driving to work and back, 7 mile runs each way, stop start traffic throughout, 30 zones apart from about a mile on the motorway but this is actually the slowest part,...

Just checked my post history and last entry was 2014 so I thought I'd say hello. Good to see the forum is still going, couple of familiar faces still knocking about which is good to see. As people have noted as these cars get older there are less on the roads, doesn't seem to have diminished the number of posters though :) I saw a VR4 last week but can't remember the last time I saw a Legnum. Currently driving a Golf R and although they are common as muck, they are still pretty damn...

I've been using Bosch coils now for almost 1 year as a replacement alternative to the original Mitsubishi original coils (x 3) I chose these as a readily available coil and thankfully the pricing was good, about AUD $50 each. They are also rated up around the 40Mj range which is quite good, they pretty much settle the idle and offer goo starting. Installation is just plug n play, the rear 3 coils sit flush to the rocker cover, front 3 sit up about 25mm. They don't need plates and by using a...

I am always wary of garages - whilst there's nothing too "special" about these cars, they are very rare, and most garages don't really know what they're doing with them, so you potentially end up paying much more labour costs than strictly necessary because they have to spend time figuring everything out. I don't think you're particularly far from Davezj who might be able to assist you in diagnosing this, and give you some pointers before you head to a garage and potentially part with lots...

I will update you! I knew it was a belt, my big bet is on whether the original garage actually replaced the cambelt... I had a chat with one of the lads at this garage earlier today, I think I'm going to take Bubby in next week and see how much of my list they're prepared to tick off and how much I'm looking at.... https://www.roperformance.co.uk/contact

It's relatively easy to check the items that run off each belt by removing the belts one at a time. My money will be on one of the tensioners with a dry bearing.

I'm assuming the headlights are OEM JDM? If so I'm interested, though would need them shipped to Finland. How much do you want for them? Also interested in the engine cover but I'm guessing it's far gone already /Hissy
