Hello, My name is Javed, I recently purchased a silver 2001 mitsubishi Galant/Legnum. It has a large blitz fmic. Tein coil overs. I have done a full service: ngk colder grade 7 with the 0.8mm gap. Front lower control arms aftermarket from America (Mike from viamoto). Installed superpro bushes on the new arms, Also done a bit of rust repair on the front suspension turret. Also done the extra long stud conversion so I can run spacers which originally came on the car. The previous owners cut...

I tried to reply twice but it never posted. Iím pretty sure the gearbox is the same auto box as the airtrek and the vr4s. If not Iv a spare auto box out of the airtrek parts car.

My local yard has been like a father to me all my motoring years :D 4or so years ago, I see a vr4 estate in the holding yard. Ask one of the lads is it a manual, he says yeah, he wasn't that impressed having driven it tho :quasi: I ask them to keep the gearbox and associated. 200quid and it's mine I'm told. An absolute steal as you know. Go back in weekly, waiting for the clearance to get the parts, big day comes? It's a v6 galant that someone has stuck vr4 badges on :furious3: In hindsight I...

Are you going gearbox too? Or will the one in there cope? There have been a couple of 4G63T swaps in the past, but I'm afraid I never knew the finer details. One of the was Dutch Driver, you may get some info from the link in this thread: https://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?35300-what-the-hell

Anyone ever had a longer car search!? Looks like I've found one but it's a V6 auto saloon rather than a VR4. However it's not rusty! Keep changing my mind, but it's been that long searching I think I'll take what I can get! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Iím picking up a 2.4gdi 5speed auto 4wd galant at the weekend. Iv had a saloon and a legnum vr4 in the past and always wanted another galant. I have a spare 4g63t engine out of an airtrek with an evo 7 turbo that Iím planning to swap into it. How horrible is the wiring going to be? I have the full engine, engine loom, ecu and fuse box from the donor car. Iím just not looking forward to joining the engine loom to the body loom. If anyone has done a similar engine swap and like to give me a...

There's no "engine is running" signal as standard. You'd need some kind of latching relay if you wanted to pull from the starter signal. So long as you don't sit with the ignition switched on, then start the car, just letting it be powered with the ignition switch will be OK.

I'm planning to install a wideband o2 sensor, and I want to wire it so it's only on when the engine is running. I was thinking of powering it from the ignition on wire of the ignition switch, with a relay that activates when the starter signal is turned on. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the ignition switch, or better sugestions of how to wire it?

Hi Ian, Thanks for the reply, I have to have a good look at mine just to confirm it is faulty but will see . By getting it from EBay are you sure that it is a good one ? as I have had AFR sensors that didn’t work but when I got one from another supplier it was ok. Hopefully the weather is better tomorrow so I can have a look at it :)

Yet again, companies getting things totally wrong because they don't know the cars! As everyone else has said, only a single one needed, and ideally recirculating. Though there are hybrid ones, where you can choose how much to recirculate and how much to vent, so if you want a bit of noise, you can have it without upsetting the running of the car too much!

it is a pain in the back side to get it out but it will come out. i took mine out a few months ago i ended up taking all the wire harness clips and clamps off the loom to be able to move the look out the way to make it easier to remove the ABS ecu.
