Use a camera or friend to check the slave actuation compared to the pedal. Also try making the push rod shorter. I found that trying to have it too long stopped it being able to self adjust.

here is a video that that shows you lean AFR is only good for bring on detonation. rich AFR just counteracts detonation. Timing is everything, if you increase time to detonation point and then richen the AFR up and little to stop the detonation then do it, and then increase the timing a little more until detonation returns and then back off a couple of degrees of timing for safety. this is a must watch video to dispel a few myths about tuning.

i have some stiffer valve springs to fit when i get round to gettig the cam reground for a bit more lift. i was going to open up the standard exhaust manifold outlet to the turbo for more flow as it does seem very small. but i am goingto put sensors all over the engine for pressure and temp (to calculate air density) and exhaust egt and back pressure. this will allow me to make an informed decision on what needs to change and where. do you know what is the flow rate of the standard heads....

If you're going the route of stock ported manifolds it will work good only till around 380whp. After that it's gonna start back pressuring. We suffered from valve float over 400whp. We decided after to build a set of manifolds and that solved all our issues.

make sure you are not low on clutch fluid. not sure how that would effect engagement pedal height but with checking.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that adjusting the shaft just adjusts the free play. winding it in just makes the pedal have less travel which doesn't feel great. I think clutch just might be worn ill get it checked. I'm not going to be happy replacing one very 30k though.

Hey guys thanks for the welcome. We've got a bunch of them here so far met like 3 people with VR4s. all stock nothing crazy. Weird thing is that it was highly recommended by police in the late 90s early 2000s. So most were from ex-government.

That was me on the facebook group! But yes, main dealers can still supply a lot. In current times though, mail order is a bonus.

Hi Guys, Can we use Evo clutch master cylinders on a facelift Legnum VR4? I have an aftermarket heavy duty clutch and the engagement point is right at the top of the pedal and adjusting the pushrod assembly doesn't seem to do much. I have heard that the Evo master cylinders have a larger bore and may make for a better engagement point? I have a new OEM spec Legnum master and slave cylinders just not happy with where it engages. I hope clutch isn't worn its only done under 30,000 ks and it...

Hey guys, I've been here since last year and apologies I never posted on the newbie area. I currently own a really beat up galant vr4 which I am really trying to restore to it's glory. I have already engaged with some of you in sourcing some parts and you have been really helpful. Thanks. Drove it for a few weeks after buying it then hell broke lose. The wiring was all messed up (always shorting fuses here and there). Few wires burnt out due to poor bypasses, left me stranded a couple of times....

if we had the option of E85 we would all have the option of more power. E85 will stop knock. but need a gasket/seal changes to E85 safe seals. and a flex fuel sensor so you can use normal petrol and E85 . but this is a different topic.
