I had a an old P38 diesel which i managed to refurb the injector pump in situ so i have had a bit of experience with diesels On the shoguns i’ve read they have a couple of sensors on the injection pump but they also have a chip in them which connects to the ecu, just don’t know what to believe about these

I'm no expert! Could be a pump issue but could equally be low compression from worn bores or blown head gasket. Are you familiar with diesel pumps, they need to be timed to the engine, the mounting holes are elongated I believe. So you'd need the spec for this and a way of measuring it (Dial gauge maybe?). They also work at high pressure and need to be primed once fitted, you'll need to make sure the injector pipes are all done up tight or you'll have diesel everywhere very quickly. ...

Hi all, been a while since i’ve been on here but need some advice on a 3.2 diesel shogun that i might be looking to buy cheap Basically it needs some work, rear brakes (no worries) Mot (again no real worries) The big one for me is it’s hard to start and lacking a bit of power, now i’ve read horror stories about the injection pump Question is are they really that bad and how hard are they to sort out? Now i don’t know it is the pump but i don’t know it isn’t either Any advice greatly...

Thank you everyone for all the kind words. Its nice to be alive even if currently a little bit broken. My oldest is now 21 so I can see a few track days /meets next year :) my Son is going to Japfest this year but as a spectator only. He seems to have caught the mitsi bug and now owns a 2.0 lancer estate. GARRY - you have PM :)

Hi, If someone could send me OE piston measurments or one OE piston, i can ask quote from custom piston set for 6A13TT. They probably be around 600eur a set + shipping and taxes (100eur/piston) and Made in Russia. Pistons come with Kolbenschmit rings. But there is one but, they can make from 82,00mm (Original size is 81,00, i guess 1mm overbore is not a problem for 6A13?) Also i can get custom pistons from JE Pistons, Wiseco and almost all US makers but their prices are 1,5x what...

hmm that is interesting as my next engine build will be wanting to fit forged pistons and rods. but this will mean cylinder board machining to oversized pistons and posibly crank bore/journals resized as the standard bearing seem to be getting difficult to get hold of.

looks like a bad engagement of the starter cog teeth as nev has said. looks like only partial contact on start up. it is a gerbox out of the car job to change the torque plate, as it is bolted to the end of the crankshaft. the torque plate clattering against the torque converter bolts will probably have damage the holes in the torque plate and elongated them. remember to use thread lock on the crankshaft bolts as well as the torque converter bolt. if you dont use thread lock in the...
