Morning all, Apparently my Galant started making ‘alarm like noises’ according to the Mrs.. so I went and checked it out. Sure enough, the front passenger door could be opened despite the car being ‘locked’, and without triggering the alarm too. When I use the key to manually lock the front passenger door (after the remote central locking secures the rest of the car) it renders it unopenable as it should be. I am assuming the remote operated lock solenoid is linked to the mechanism...

Hi all. Wondering if anyone was breaking a VR4 or happened to have one of these gathering dust on a shelf anywhere? It's the large ECU tucked up by the passengers left knee. Would also appreciate any tips if people happen to know good ways of getting it in and out without having to remove all the cabin air system! Thanks for your help.

I am working on sorting out a few small issues with my new Legnum, one of the things the previous owner did was install an aftermarket CD changer in the back. It has left permanent marks on the side floor cover. Any one know what colour this is and where i can find a piece to replace it?

Just upgraded the intercooler on my Evo 7RS, so was thinking about put the stock one on the vr4 as a sort of oem upgrade almost. Just wanted to check if it will fit with out too much modification, and if anyone knew what elbows etc I would need. I believe the official dimensions of the evo cooler are 470x310x70mm. TIA

My speedo sometimes stops working completely, or the speed starts rising with the revs, and then the gearbox goes into limp mode. I fiddled around a bit with the cable going to the gearbox output sensor, and it worked for a while, but after hitting a bump the poblem comes back. I'm thinking the problem is in the cable or connector of the output sensor, but are there any other obvious places where the fault might be?

Have you disconnected the cable from the sensor on the top of the gear box. the last car i looked at with the same issue had completely corroded terminals on the out put shaft sensor and they just turned to green dust when the cable was disconnected. the issue was a verted bonnet and the water draind collects in the output shaft speed sensor divot in the top of the gearbox. the moral of this story is don't use a vented bonnet in the rain. You can get water collecting in the divot for...

It's effectively a special edition yes. Nothing different mechanically but some aesthetic differences. I'd suggest starting an owners thread with some photos and we can help dissect your car!

Hello and welcome to ClubVR4. As Davezj has touched on, our MAFs will not work properly in blow-through mode. The way the Karman Vortex generator works requires equal and laminar airflow over it - even changing to a pod filter or replacing the stock airbox messes up the fuelling terribly, and the airflow in blow-through mode will mess with this very delicate and precise metering method. I would also suggest that you do not try to re-use the OEM ECU and a piggyback - yes, you might be able...
