Let me just cut it short!!!

On my way to holiday Wales after 80 miles cruising 60 mph I ve lost my drive!!

Pulled in to a lay by waited for a 20 min started the car, put in to D little pull and nothing again, Reset the ecu by unplugging the battery and draining the power from the system. Start againg NOTHING so I was brought home by big truck with flashy lights on. Looks like No holiday for me?

Any ideas would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

All I can think of is I have replaced my spark plugs on last friday and I have checked it over and over to make sure I put everything back together ok.

Kind regards

OOh additionaly:
My gearbox fluid level is spot on, Colour is kind a brown! Thats all I can think of really!!!!

Ooops.... ATF turns brown when it's toasted.... :inquisiti Could you get any gears to select if you pushed it into tiptronic and forced the gearbox into '2'?

Any other signs? TCL lights, little 'N' light flashing? Rough gearchanges before it went pear shaped?

Yes I can put in to tip mode and can select 2 but still the same car will not move?

Did not have signs before this happened no jerky changes or nothing it has been smooth and problem free really!! I think I have seen N light flashing for a few seconds at the time when it all hapenned but now no lights flashing?

In tip mode I can select 1 and 2 I cant select any other gears??
In D it wont responde?
In R it wont respond?
If I revved the engine up to 3 or 4 k it will then move and loose again.
Start up AYC check OK TCL Check OK and all the aother lights clears out after starting the car.

Well Its weird really for a really low mileage car couse it has only covered 32k miles

Any ideas please?

I think you're in luck !
It sounds electrical to me, & not gearbox failure. /Hmmm
get Mitsy to diagnose the problem, but DONT let them do the work. take it elsewhere.

I cant drive the car It will not move So I cant take it to Mitsi,,, hold on wait for this!!!!!!

My Local Mitsi Wont touch my due to their clever policy ---WE DONT TOUCH IMPORTS POLICY--- so I am kind a stuck,, is there any way of reading the fault codes via engine warning light flashes???

I am starting to get upset now!!

PS: where would you fill or top up your ATF?

you could fill the atf from the dipstick with a funnell, sorry to say this but looks like a knacered gearbox and not the sensors

Now this I don't understand. Mitsubishi UK's policy concerning imports is that they are treated the same as a UK car, service should be provided to you, if at a somewhat elevated cost.

Regarding sensors... Does indeed sound like a dead box - Possibly one of the clutch bands has burned out, but it could just be a solenoid. When you rev the engine to get the car to move, are there any nasty noises?

Story goes!

Today I have flashed the ATF and managed to drain all the old fluid from the system, used about 10 liters of DIII in total, put everything back together start the car and it started to behave properly for about 3 minutes all the gears worked and lost them again, On my dash gear number 3 Light come on and the N flashing (1 flash per second) also first time I have heard some sort metal scraping from the box So I stopped. Where do I go from here??? Any recommendations for a thrustwordy transmission specialist around Rugby West Midlands???

Also I have been quated £1500+vat for full rebuild with new tourqe converter 12months or 12k miles warranty by BDK in coventry!! Anyone had any jobs done by them?

I am now started to think Why an earth did I sell my Skyline at the first place!! which was abused and looked after daily with no problems...

Sorry to hear you are having a bad first experience. There are a couple of places around Birmingham, maybe the people who have had work done can let you know.
