I was talking to Andy at RSE Motorsport on Friday and he mentioned how similar the VR4 engine is to the the 3000GT engine.

I know the answer is going to 99.9% certain no, but are they interchangeable ?

no ,they are the other way round , our g/box is on the left(veiwed frm the front)and theirs is on the right , why do they do this? it must cost them a fortune in extra tooling and casting :rolleyes4

Ah right, just thinking out loud sort of.

But I should have done a search as this subject has been extensively covered.

There goes my idea of a three litre VR4..............

Unless the block has enough metal to take a rebore for the GTO pistons, but then the small end journals are a totally different size and the GTO rods won't fit the VR4 crank and the GTO crank won't fit the VR4 block.

nothing is impossible , it depends on many factors as to how difficult it will be, the main thing is depending on where abouts the 3000gto transfer case would sit in our body shells and then getting the drive train to line up , the rest after that would be relitavly easy :rolleyes4
