Scary stuff! Nick changed the ATF (including flushing out the torque convertor using my guide) back in February. Since then, the car has racked up about 8,000 miles and done one track day at Castle Combe comprising 2 x 20 min sessions.

This is what came out of the ATF sump..... And the crap that came out of the transmission cooler, torque convertor and valve block was even more worrying!! /help /help

I will be posting an article on ATF flushing/changing later, as that was Sunday's little job!

But be warned! Going on track? Get a secondary cooler fitted!!! /yes

I think a big atf cooler mounted infront of the radiator is needed, BDA posted a guide on how to do this, I definately intend to get one fitted.

I think we all should try to get our auto trans oil serviced much more often than 8000 miles!

I agree, and will be checking the qualilty of the fluid regularly. However, Mitsubishi only recommend an ATF change once every 45,000 miles (according to the UK literature)!!

ATF changed every 9k and no problems with box or fluid from track use :inquisiti

If it can survive the Ring - I don't need a cooler

Indeed, in the past car names have gone wrong in translation, whos to say they didn't get excited and add an extra 0 to it?
