I have just put Evo 7 wheels on my car, which I think are 8" wide. You wouldn't want the wheel to stick out any further than that. I can't remember what the offset is on those - could it be 38? I think that the quoted figures are around 45 offset for the VR4.

FYI: The offset is 46mm on the GLS

It also depends if your car has the wheel arch flares or not. EVO 7 mags are indeed 8" wide, I don't think you would be able to get anything wider on a car without the wheel arch flares. With the flares you could probably go to 255 wide if you didn't lower the car at all.
I don't know what the offset measurement would be though sorry.

If you're talking about the VR4 then the offset on my BBS Rx 18x8 alloys is ET40, which also gives a healthy gap for 6 pot calipers to fit behind.

i'm currently using 18x7.5 wheels with an offset of 42.. they fit nicely.. i guess 38-40 would be ok then?
Jimbo,
what tire size are you using? :D
