I saw one of these in Auckland the other day and all I could pick out was the Toyota badge on it. In real life it looked a lot better than in the photos, the headlights in particular didn't look as ugly.

What seems interesting is that there are 2.5l 6 cylinder models without turbos and with 4wd, but all turbo models are front wheel drive?????

It can't be front wheel drive coz they've got wider tyres (225's) at the rear...making it obviously a RWD. /pan

thats what I thought, but several websites say front wheel, maybe they just didn't convert the japanese very well?

on that cars directory site it sez its rear wheel drive. seems like it just a supra wagon or sumthing along those lines with a slightly smaller engine.

well thats ok then.

It looks quite nice, did you see the interior pics on the toyota site? I wish there was a 4wd turbo version.

That is the new Caldina isn't it? very ugly in my mind. sort of like a 5 door hatchback gone wrong.

I've seen a few of these around. There was a couple driving together at the Mount on the Hamilton/Tauranga cruise a while back. I do like them.

Hi M8, that Caldina is a wicked car. It does come as 4WD and runs the same same set up as the CELICA GT4. So being ugly makes it an under estimated car. I know it is 4WD as at 1 time I wanted one ( but could not afford it ) and my bro told me that it has the same running gear as his GT4 ST205.

Saw my first one one the road today since last year at JAE..

Am Sure it has a lot of potential just like the celica....

Anyone know how much these go for in the UK? /Hmmm

This one that was at JAE last year alongside that 650+ brake 10 second qtr Fensport corolla...
