Hi,

I have just received the first track time ticket....

I am in session: "I" at 11:40.

I was just wondering what times everyone else was going on track.

Our second session is V - IIRC on track at 16:00.

Being unexperienced on the track is there much chance of me writing my car off if I take your track sesh Wodj?

I would say your chance of writing your car off are small.

You can drive as hard as you want to drive. My experience is limited, but the accidents I have seen have all been self - inflicted.

Silverstone international circuit is HUGE! There is more tarmac than you know what to do with. IMO there is plenty of space to avoid other cars, so keep within your limits and the risk is very small.

If you are still scared, you can get insured, but the insurance will cost more than the track session and have a massive x/s.

Maybe some of the more experienced guys can say if they have seen a car to car impact?

I have never seen a car-to-car incident in the UK, but when you think about it, if you're driving amongst the unknown quantity of other cars and drivers, it is a risk - you'll be among a lot of identical cars and (mostly :joker: )sensible drivers at Trax though.

As for Silverstone itself.....as Nick says, it's incredibly wide and the run-offs are gargantuan in most places - they have to be able to reduce the chances of an F1 car doing 200mph from hitting anything solid, and you won't be doing much more than 110mph at the fastest point (hanger straight).

They didn't let us have passengers last year, and I remember reading it was the same organisers this time.

Mind you....last year they said in advance we couldn't film in-cab, but that was contradicted by the guy in the briefing room after Pete & co had already decided to leave their gear at home!
