I have tried adding to someones reputation, but it didn't add anything... why is that?
is there some other thing that has to happen before reputation points are added, or maybe something like the thread rating or number of posts in the thread determines the number of reputation points?

Legnum Boy: Yes, it did work.... maybe you only get reputation if you start the thread?

How do you know it didn't work ??
I'm not totally sure how the system works, but i suppose it must be on an accumalatiom basis. i.e. Once you have 10 rep points your rep note changes.! And then maybe again at 50, 100, 250, 500 and so on.. But unless when you add to someones rep it takes it into the next total then i wouldn't have thought it will show any signs of change .. /Hmmm

Spot on Glenn.

Kenneth you will not know if it has worked but if you PM the person concerned they can check in their User CP to confirm they have your comment.

As Glenn said, it's a cumulative points system.

if you go to your User CP, you will see your reputation points, and the post on which you got reputation, and who gave you those points. if you know what your points were, then someone gives you some, then you know how many were added.

so, to recap, you gave swomeone reputation, they checked their UserCP.. and your comment wasn't there?

no, that wasn't it. I have it on my User CP also. I was given a reputation for a reply to a post, but got no points.

The only points i have are when I have started the thread.
/edit: not that I have that many reputation hits lol

There is a time limit on the same person giving out reputation, perhaps this was somethign to do with it?

There are also the following factors in reputation desicions..

Minimum Post Count = 50 (must have 50 posts to actually give out reputation)
Minimum Reputation Count = 10 (a person must have 10 points to start givng out points.)
Daily Reputation Clicks Limit = 10 (you are only allowed to give out 10clicks a day)

I can't see who left me the reputation - am I missing something?

....and to the person who left me negative reputation points but with a positive comment - I appreciate the sentiment, ta!

Yours is Working ??

Yep - if I understand your problem correctly are you clicking on the "+" on the right of the reputation menu bar as it drops down displaying the comments?

If this was your problem then a rep for me would be much appreciated /yes
