Mitsubishi Reading have just quoted me £350 for the 4.5K oil, filter and AYC flush service. This is obviously a comedy quote (I hope) but does anyone know of a specialist in the area and what should I be paying?

Cheers

Either do it yourself............. an easy job if you've got ramps/space etc, or pay no more than £100 elsewhere. /yes
F.c.u.k. Mitsy !! /grr they know sod all about VR4's !! :embarasse

Derek's right. don't let the AYC scare you. To change the fluid that needs replacing every 4,500 miles (the torqure transfer fluid, or wet clutch fluid) isn't that difficult - The filler bolt takes some getting to, but other than that it's just like changing any other rear diff fluid - only difference being that the clutch fluid is just Dexron III ATF.

I got a complete B service for about 150 pounds from a mitsi dealership, they are just trying to rip you off.

I also got my oil changed just today, engine, trans and ayc, it was NZ$210.

I use Mitsy Reading all the time (going for 31.5k on Monday). Only time I paid £450 was when they fitted my Boost controller, front Nationals & Ferodos and did a service. Contrary to what I've heard about a lot of other dealers thay seem to be quite good with the VR4 (they were nearly as gutted as me when mine was nicked!). I think perhaps the fact I live <100m from them may help (I can be in there complaining loudly very quickly and often should the need arise!!)
