<Rant mode on>where i live at its cheapest and i have seen it for 99p.

this time last year i was paying around 81p per litre for the same fuel.

I am getting pissed off with the hike in prices, 2 p per litre in the last three days alone!

Now i can get 30-32 mpg from our 24v Galant if i am careful which i have been. I am still spending £ 30-45 per week on fuel which is not alot compared to some .

The RAC (i think) made a suggestion to the government to cap fuel duty to keep a litre below £ 1.00 per gallon which seems sensible, but, The government decided this was not a good idea, how else do you fund the war, all the human rights lawyers sticking up the for scum of the earth in our jails + all the immigration costs?

How long before there are fuel protests and this government are made to realise that you cannot just keep squeezing the motorists for every penny to fund everything else?

I'll get my coat......

I read that a lot of UK pumps are scrambling to put biggers signs so they can display x.xx.x prices.

Maybe they should have some fore thought this time and be prepared to display xx.xx.x prices.

We are looking at NZ$2.00 a litre by Xmas. And as our income is less than the UK on average, this price will hit quite hard.

Yeah, it bites. Oil prices have come down to about 64c-67c (peak) per barrel as the US has released their reserve from the aftermath of Katrina.

Not that it will effect NZ prices thanks to our greedy GOVT.

I just paid £1.069 for BP Ultimate 97 ron, outside Glasgow.

Where is Bletchley??, I am tempted to come down with buckets and basins!.

What if we all chip in for a tanker full from a foriegn country, I,m sure we can sneak it in somehow!

Hmm I have been using 95 RON for a while now but local texaco is now 99.9p for UL and 101.9 for SUL??!?!! :embarasse

It just didnt seem right that the counter for the price mirrored the counter for the amount of fuel in litres as I filled up...

15quid for 15.01 litres of UL??? /help

My last fill of 42litres (for Trax) only got me 185 miles... (Not even going to work out MPG as I dont want to know) ..... and I dint even go on track?!??!!

this current hike is due to Katrina..

Not quite. Europe has plenty of fuel reserves. In fact so much they are sending it to the good old USA for them to pour into their good old hummers.

Comes down to cynical exploitation of the oil market spot prices by dealers who know a good thing when they see one.

And of course for every, say, 10p rise Gordon gets 8p per litre sold. So if you use 100 litres a week, Gordon gets £8 for doing not a thing.

If he stood up in parliament and demanded that amount off every sucker in the country there would be an outcry. But its money for nothing and he does not lose a single vote.

Looks like a protest is on the way, and, maybe panic buying like back in 2000

I do agree with a protest, how else do you let this government know how it hurts - not that the seem to care!
