I am sure dickytim will have something to say... just don't know if he will bother ;)

As I recall he got an uprated clutch kit. If I remember correctly it cost him roughly $1000 (very roughly) which he said was similar to the cost of a standard item.

It then took him 12odd hours to change it himself (I think he might have had help for some or all of it) due to the difficulty of getting at the clutch.

I have heard around $2000 is what to expect for a clutch & install

I did the job twice now, $800 for the clutch and about $200 for the extras, plus 12 hours each time.

Yip I had mine done, H/D 6 puck - $1400, $400 labour at mitsi in blenheim. I cant recall what brand the clutch kit is, but apparently the guy that sold it to me has one in his 6g vr4 rally car (same brand, not the same clutch) and has had no problems with it. Reckons it'll do 5 grand launches all day with no problems. I am of the opinion that something else is going to break before the clutch lets go so I am very gentle on my drivetrain.

only problem with uprated clutches is driving them in traffic screws them pretty fast. std clutch kit is probably the best option for a street driven vr4 with factory power output.

I would slightly disagree, and say that a heavier pressure plate and slightly heavier duty clutch would not go astray, I have done that in mine and am quite happy with the results.
