Battery or Alternator problems?????

Can anyone /help – a m8 of mine has a GLS and told me his horn was beeping / faintly weeping after a camping trip away – it was very wet whilst away and during the drive home when he noticed the faint sound.

The only thing I can think of is the battery or the alternator – an old Volvo I had done the same when the alternator went.

Has anyone else had a similar problem or can shed light on this??????

i think you've hit the nail on the head there!!!

test battery voltage when static - should be between 11 - 12volts, then with the engine running, it should read between 13-14v on idle
