There's more pics: This design isn't photoshopped, the sporthatch with the same bodystyle came out in frankfurt 9 days ago.
It's gorgeous... can't wait for 08.

Fornt end, Oh Yes,

BUT,

Rear end say Renault Laguna to me anyway, which is not good.

If they made an estate/wagon version, or a 2 door coupe I'd be signing on the line now for one. (in black with at least 400kw), (and all the other good vr4/evo bits)

I'm off tomorrow to find and FPV or HSV driver to embarrass at the traffic lights.....

I like it, the body is a one piece design instead of the bolt on skirts/flares etc. It looks mean and agressive which is what the Evo's are about.

You See
30-09-2005, 10:32 AM
Don't like the grey bits in the front and back....reckon it'll look better body coloured. ...and what's up with the rear lights?....apart from that...veryyyy nice!
Mitsi changes the body of evos every 3 versions....1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and now 10-12?

These are the first pictures of the car that is likely to have Tokyo motor showgoers flocking to the Mitsubishi stand next month: Tagged ‘Concept-X’, the muscular new four-door previews 2007’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, the latest addition to the triple diamond marque’s rally-bred road car dynasty.

Insiders confirm that the concept is ‘very close’ to the production car, which goes on sale soon after standard versions of the new Ford Focus rival Lancer mid-way through 2007. The styling follows that of the five-door Concept Sportback, unveiled at last month’s Frankfurt show, but designers have added a touch of extra aggression for the Evolution version with its extra Naca bonnet duct, deeper front spoiler, pronounced rear diffuser and high WRC-style rear wing.

Expect a big step forward in cabin quality over the current car’s plasticky affair, though Mitsubishi is at pains to stress that the Evo will not be moving up a class to take on the BMW M3 and Audi S4.

Power is likely to come from the familiar formula of a turbocharger mated to a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing at least 300bhp, now breathing through beefy twin tailpipes exiting either side of the diffuser in place of the current car’s single big-bore item. But for the Evo X that power will be provided by an all-new unit as the ageing 4G 63 block is finally retired, having provided motivation for quick Lancers since the Evo I of 1992.

The new engine’s punch will be fed to all four wheels, true to Evo tradition, using an updated version of Mitsubishi’s sophisticated four-wheel drive system, incorporating an active centre differential and active yaw control.

please please let the new engine be a 6A13TT mivec, rip out the 4G93 and those stupid little 4 cylinder engines.

I must say, the 4G63 can now take it's place in the 'Great engines of our time' category. How many other 2 litre turbos have rolled from the factory with 400bhp (EVO FQ-400)?

bradc
30-09-2005, 08:45 PM
That is definately true, it has been a great engine for over 10 years. The RB26DETT isn't bad either.

Kieran, you really like MMCS, don't you, check out my waahoooo thread, you'll like it ;)

Not keen on the sportback version, but the red one, ...............
 The Vee 2  Just hope there is a v6 of some description.
From what Ive heard it's slightly bigger than the current Evo (good)

Like both models alot, Headlights are definately "lets be different than the others" Design and thats great to see these days. The Hatchback is modelled around the "hyena" Designs, Arched back, predatorial, ready to attack stance. :leer: (Similar to late model Lancia....One day i will own one, before they rot to the ground :rolleyes4
Absolutely "DING DONG"!

quadal, you've got the back of the hatchback all wrong :P

Remember Jeremy Clarkson testing the Chrysler Crossfire where he said it's arched back looked like a dog going for a crap? Thats what I think of the hatchback. Just make a wagon already!

When I see this in the flesh, I am sure my resolve will weaken and "God forbid" my time in the VR-4 will have an end.

If these pictures do represent the new EVO, then it won't be on my shopping list. I think it's a very handsome car, but it's still to 'IN YOUR FACE' for my taste...

like the outside don't like inside.

The Vee

yep said it before absolutely love that X. Not keen though on the interior, and of course would love them to fit a V6 - but I think that's unlikely.

26-02-2006, 10:02 PM
There will probably be a 2.4 GDI in lessor models as well as the 2.0 Mivec Turbo in the Lancer X. I noticed in the Jan 2006 UK Car, that we can expect the Lancer to be released in 2007 and it is the number 2 most anticipated car.

KiwiTT

Auto Express (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/previews/65311/mitsubishi_lancer_evo_x.html) test drives it !

Inside, the new cabin will be a huge improvement over the current model's. Higher-quality materials will feature, and there will be more equipment, including an on-board multimedia system. Not only will this display details about the in-car entertainment and sat-nav, its screen will also show real-time information on the status of the S-AWC system.

Finally! It looks like MMCS will be in a UK-Market car!!! Whoohoo!:2thumbsup :drummer: /Banana /Poms

Sorry......Couldn't help myself.... :embarasse /pan

Mummy!!!

I want one, that looks excellent.

Like others, I'm not keen on the interior, but then this is a development model so it's probably more for show at this stage - it's unlikely they'll keep all those strange fiddly components for the production model, they look like they'd cost too much.
