Hi guys.

I've bought VR4 with manual Gearbox SNGF3 modification '99. But was really surprised when knew that it's without AYC. (Before had 2 VR4 on tiptronic with AYC)

Questions are:
What kind of rear differential is it ? Is it the same as with AYC system or not?
I think, that this VR4 modification is easier than passport weight 1460 kg ?

Most of Type-V are with AYC. It not depends on Type S or Type V, I think.

There are definately some VR4's without AYC. Pavel, what country was your's sold new in, and where do you live at the moment?

The reason I ask is that 'You See' on these forums owns a 2001 VR-4 Type V that was sold new in New Zealand, and it doesn't have AYC.

No, I'm fron Russia and took the car directly from Japan.
I've checked with MMC soft CAPS all the SNGF3 VR4's since 1998 don't have AYC.

But now qestion is - principal working of NON AYC rear differential.

It should just be a standard diff. hopefully LSD at that.

Not having AYC should make the car a bit lighter not only on the road, but on your pocket also. Most of us probably dont use the AYC near its capability anyway, instead we do stupid stuff that rags it and costs us :P

Probably has the RS diff that comes out of RS rally cars.
