twice in the last 3 months or so I have noticed my gear change go really slow, and when Ive checked the atf it's been a bit low (taken about 3/4ltr to top up). This is even though it's checked reguraly.

I've checked under and checked the drive and can't find where it's going(I will steam clean this weekend to see if I can see it then) but after reading one of Dereks many threads on the subject, he mentioned the possibility of a breather pipe being blocked.

The mitsi manuals I have don't seem to cover our box,but in all the oil flow diagrams there is a relief valve external to the box. My reason for going down this route is that on one of the occasions was after I'de been out to play (setting up boost controller) and my thoughts are that if this wasn't operating correctly(dirty) then it being a hydraulic setup that fluid would be forced through any seal it could.

Two questions then: does anyone know where this relief valve is?? or Am I on the completely wrong track here and do a lot more overtime to fund giving the car to a specialist to sort??

Btw cash reasons aren't the ony reason for not giving my car to the dealer. I really don't trust my local dealer

no idea - sorry Yan, however if you think putting it into a dealer may help, i can recommend Bridgend Mitsubishi in Irvine, i got all my galants from them and they know what a VR4 is....

if you speak to Neil Robertson in the service/parts dept - he'll keep you right
