The first of the day I think!!

Here's Dave with his stripped out wagon. The first run of the day by Derek was sub 13. Dave didn't manage to beat him on his first outing, only clocking a 13.08. I had to leave at that point...so I'm dying to know who came out top :drummer:

i haven't sorted any piccies out yet , I'll do that tomorrow , but i will say that i was great to see every one again  especially the bda /sghom preparations in the morning , Derek's was almost scuppered at the last huddle by a rather cheap and nasty valve cap /pan enter one old serrated kitchen knife and a pair of pliers job sorted  , then the race began , with some pretty impressive times considering how cold the track was , all was going well until a rather concerned kieren ran over with a Mobile stuck to his head saying Derek has gone pop at the end of the strip , to the bat mobile we ran (well it was my little old v6 ) ready to tow back a rather peed off Derek with a trail of internals dragging behind him , only to find a boost hose had got bored and decided it wanted to see some other views of the engine bay :rolleyes4 back together it goes and the battle continues , with the winner being

.....all was going well until a rather concerned kieren ran over with a Mobile stuck to his head saying Derek has gone pop at the end of the strip , to the bat mobile we ran (well it was my little old v6 ) ready to tow back a rather peed off Derek with a trail of internals dragging behind him , only to find a boost hose had got bored and decided it wanted to see some other views of the engine bay :rolleyes4 ......

Yeah, Paul to the rescue!! - I saw the ill-fated run and the 'pop'.... It really did look as though the engine had just decided that enough was enough and had destroyed something very expensive.... Something reinforced by the conversation with Derek, who basically said in a Very worred voice 'Erm, it's conked out.... Anyone give us a tow??'.... /help /help

Big sigh of relief all round when it turned out just to be a boost hose blown off.

Must say, having owned one myself......Paul's V6 does have quite a bit about it...... :inquisiti

HUGE congratulations Derek fabulous stuff /Steeringw We got some pictures and video of that run but Marcus will have to put them up later. Bad luck but well done to Dave for a massive effort and for both of you for contributing to another action packed and is he isn't he build up over the last few weeks - great stuff  Take a bow both of you :beerchug:

I'm also really pleased we made it to the Ibis because we had a great laugh. Even though we "fell off" the wagon and gave into the dreaded nicotine :smoking: /help :5shots: of Smirnoff Ice and I was :-ished:  but the fact everyone still spoke to me on Sunday and Marcus confirmed I did nothing daft I couldn't have been that bad even though the dreaded fart machine did the rounds - Heath, Jimbo and Barry you know who you are /pan I still have a headache this morning :sick2: but at least I didn't look as bad as Jimbo /Fever

Finially thankyou to Derek for organising a great day in Nicks abscence /GJ and to Dave for not killing my bonnet :smitten: Hopefully it's back on my car by now Dave's just didn't look quite right :rolleyes4 And also for displaying our decals throughout the day  Thankyou /Wyhy

And also, with some of those Evo's pointlessly queing up to have one final go....."it's too late, here's the trophy.....go home!"

Good weekend again, especially Saturday night. After the bar closed and we ran out of beer, Paul started pouring from his mobile liquor cabinet and we carried on for a while longer. :chugchug: :chugchug:

I got so sozzled I managed to flatten my key-fob battery playing with Derek's fart machine all night :joker:

Sunday was grim for me....I didn't dare take my sunglasses off all day Sunday - "BRIGHT LIGHT, BRIGHT LIGHT"....I felt rather poorly.

It was my first time at Santa Pod and my 7G was parked up at the North East Jap Tuner area . Laura and I had a great time . I thought it was much better than Castle Combe .
Popped over to the VR4 area but everybody seemed busy getting ready for the strip . We did get to meet BDA tho' ( mad as a box of frogs isn't he ? )
Laura took about 100 pics on the day .
You can view them at http://geoff6302.fotopic.net/c722401.html.
Allsorts on there , but she did get some VR4 action on the strip.
