Made an impulse buy today and bought myself a Sony Digital Camcorder.

Just had a thought that would be cool to bring to Japfest so I can film a few highlights that we can post on the site - as well as some still pics of course - will bring me digital camera too.

I got a digi cam just before christmas last year, dropped it on the Kitchen floor on Christmas Eve

These things don't bounce, so make sure you have some sort of insurance cover.

I started a night course at college a few weeks ago. Just a basic introductory course, but I would highly recommend it to anyone with a video cam. Basic things like setting your white balance are crucial if you want all the colours to be correct when filming. I also discovered I had loads of functions on the camera I wasn't aware of.

On the subject of JAE, are you guys only going for one day, or are you staying over. We could have an evening meet and get some rolling footage on the Saturday Evening

Now thats sounds an interesting thought ! Don't fancy strapping my cam to a wing mirror though....lol !

I am going to Japfest on my tod, so may have to treat the wife to a weekend away for JAE but she don't fancy camping - so maybe a night in a hotel/B+B on the Saturday.

May end up driving up the Saturday afternoon and staying over then just attending the show the Sunday - not sure yet.

For a bullet cam, you need an "AV-IN" socket on your camcorder. That's "Analogue Video"

Most will have AV-out, which is used to transfer film from the camera onto a VHS machine for example. I paid a wee bit extra to get the AV-in facility, but the Sony may have it any way. In fact, I'm away to check, lol.

:hurrah:
ive got a
DCRPC101 (http://products.sony.co.uk/pro_runproducts.asp?pid=2038&ShowRange=Yes&Percentage=27&New=No&Cat=Camcorders&subCat=Digital+Camcorders&Ire=&CatID=11&sProdName=DCRPC101)

It says "Analogue Input"

let me just dig out the manual.. double check

awww, don't be too dis-heartened, remember, the bullet cam will be attached to the filming car, but pointing at the "filmed" car ;) so we'll get good shots of your car......but not our own......hmmmmm, not such a good deal that :INSERT INTO post VALUES (

Get a tripod and you'll be laughing ;)

I've got a Sony Digital Camcorder with AV through put, excellent for recording stuff from TV onto the PC.
Including DVD's and Front Row films on sky to remove the macrovision, not that it's what I do I just know it works.. honest.:)
