Have just been to see GLS Galant that i am picking up on Friday and it had noisey tappets when starting from cold,, it has full service history and done 80.000 miles, should i still buy it???? Please say yes as iv'e fallen in love with it. thanks Rob

Not serious and they all do it. Do a search for 'Lash Adjusters'. Basically they're the hydraulic tappets in the engine - they are noisy when they get a fre miles on them. Regular oil changes help - And by that I mean more regular than the manufacturer recommended intervals.

I found that Wynns addititive for hydraulic adjusters made a huge difference!
