What is the model code for the VR-4 Tiptronic gearbox? I can't find it anywhere!!! /help
For those who need a few more details, as an example, The one used in the FWD UK models (both GLS and V6) is F4A42
I *think* that the VR-4s will be a W5A(xx) or maybe a V5M51?
Anyone know?

Yes - I have found the gearbox codes I was looking for...
For Information
W5A51 - 5 Speed Tip gearbox. It's also used in the JDM EVO VII.Having read some of the info on some DSM forums, It becomes clear why no-one has blown the box up through too much power or torque.... :inquisiti

And me! Or a brief synopsis?
The 51 in the gearbox name means it's rated for 510 lb/ft.
It seems that the gearbox in the GLS is F4A42. There's an F4A51 also (used in USDM galant 3.0 among others).
W at the start of the gearbox number is for AWD, while F is FWD.
W5A51 is also used in the Australian Magna and Verada AWD cars.
