Console painted at last :)

Well, I guess this could be considered my first mod to the VR4, and, after 3 coats of primer, 8 coats of paint, 7 coats of clear laquer and several sanding sessions later that nasty wooden trim is no more :)

Do you still have the wooden Nardi wheel - if so any plans to change that?

The poor old wood trim is coming in for a bit of flak at the moment, I think it's alright. Am I displaying poor judgement and taste?

BTW: Gotta love the double din stereo - I've got one back at the flat and as soon as I can afford a suitable satnav replacement (TomTom Go 700 vs. SmartNav both @£550) I'll be slotting it into my wooden trimmed console.

Cheers mate, if you like the wooden trim I say stick with it :), it is just not to my taste. The steering wheel is not wood trimmed, so that will stay. Can't say I like the double din stereo, I am on the look out for a single din dvd player and I will add a single din 3 52mm guage panel for some Defi guages I have in the garage.

I am a bit his and miss with the wood trim too esp with the dark/cloth interior which is why I changed mine. I think the wood looks good on the cars with the wooden touches on steering wheel, gear lever, chrome look plate and beige leather.... (think this is the V6 24 spec)

What jakester has done with this console against dark/cloth interior definitely looks much better than standard,... :thumbsup:

I'll see if i can get some facias manufactured up and have them in 5 colours ! Silver,Gold,Red,Blue and Yellow. :thinking:

Looks really good mate, the silver really compliments all that black.

Did you use any special interior paint, or just straight off the shelf spray cans. And did you need to do any prep work on the plastic before the primer?
