My car generates a hell of a lot of brake dust and this makes the alloys look bad. I also understand that the squeaking is related to 'dirty' brakes. I suspect most dirt on the disks is brake dust, by looking at the alloys.

I have been recommended "Kevlar" as the best type of pads. Any ideas on this. At my 1,000km service I have coming up, I will change these to the best recommended here.

Cheapest way would be to just keep cleaning your alloys..

Cleaning, would be a daily chore, because of the amount of dust generated. I am not a hard driver, as I have only had the car a couple of weeks, My last car did not have anywhere that same amount of dust.

This will extend the squeaking. When braking earlier, it squeaks, as I brake lighter then. If I brake harder and later, I get no squeaks.

check your discs for " scoring " IE scratch marks on them. if this is the case, you may need to replace your discs before you consider harder pads. any worn discs will wipe out your brake pads pretty quick, hence the dust.

Thanks for that.

I will include that, on my service check as well.
