After reading all the threads and searching through the Archives, I was convinced my Lamda Sensor was on the fritz - the symptons mainly revolved around the car almost stalling after coming to a standstill from high speed, and a faint smell of petrol occasionally.

Anyway, after running a full diagnostic on Saturday, Moto Cars discovered that it was in fact the the stepper motor /idle control valve - and it was so easy to detect: Revs should rise when you turn the wheel to power the PS Pump (mine didn't - and I'm now wondering if I changed my PS pump in vain!) and also the revs should rise when the AC kicks in - mine does it erraticaly.

Anyway, Mitsubishi, bless them, want £481 inc VAT for a new one!!!

Through ebay, I've found www.autojapspares.co.uk

Spoke to Lee, on 024 76 474 848, very helpful and confirmed the part number of MD 628 056.

Placed the order a minute ago and it will be with me tomorrow. Total price, inc delivery: £116.50

So a major   from me
