welding onto car - how to isolate?

how do you isolate the electronics when welding onto the car? will just removing the negative terminal on the battery be enough?

Worked for us when Dave and I welded the exhaust to Hordak. You could also disconnect the wires to the alternator and the starter motor, just in case.
