What's that you ask?

That's a picture of a hole in the driver's side headlamp unit of my car. As you can gather from the lens lines in the glass and the size of the condensation drops on the inside of the glass, the hole is tiny... about 2mm across at the surface of the glass.

On the inside it's about 1/2 an inch across, knocking out a cone-shaped chunk of glass which is now floating about inside the headlamp unit. Very bizarre.

I think it occured on the M6 when hit by a stone last sunday. I didn't notice it until next morning (which is how the condensation got in).

Mitsubishi wanted £170+VAT for a new headlamp unit. Mo to the rescue!

A very expensive tiny little hole...

can this not be repaired
IE remove light, remove lens, glue it back together as you have the piece to put back in.

Pretty sure someone with something like the Esprit system for glass repair could fix this; it just comes down to how much you can get a second hand unit for. Still a piszer though isn't it!
