View Full Version : How dirty does your VR4 get - Kieran keep out!

Partly inspired by my shame when Nick Mann last visited in his pristine VR4, partly inspired by GroundControls picture of his mud splattered Legnum following some spirited driving.

How dirty do you allow your car to get?

Mine is normally fairly grubby, then it gets a wash, but is unlikely to get polished. As an idea the following attachment is after much motorway driving and I was really tempted to wash it:

Well I've already been mentioned, but...

/yes

I should mention that it's not normally left in this sort of state for any length of time, I do in fact clean it on the odd occasion /yes

When I spotted these wind blown seeds stuck to the back of the car there was no doubt that I needed to wash it.

BTW - I'd been travelling at a steady 80mph, they really were stuck on. Despite living in concrete Birmingham I'm often able to park under a tree to really encourage the muck and grime to stick to the car.

I am now completely ashamed. One of the said trees seems to have taken a bit too much of a liking to my car and has taken root under my spoiler :huh2:

I now expect to be kicked out of CVR4 by the chief sparkle nazi (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/member.php?find=lastposter&f=49) himself.

Wifes VR4 gets a 4 step Maguiars wash, cut, polish and wax every 6 months with a wash every second weekend at most, quite often more.
I suspect mine will probably be on a similar regime under pain of death if it doesn't match up.
When we've come back from photographing Rallies it can be pretty dirty but it at least gets a washdown to get rid of the crud ( that waxing helps a lot ) and gets a proper wash and wipe down asap.

<--------

Went down to my parents on Tuesday, after getting the car fixed.

Before diving home I gave the lights a quick clean, my dad asked when I was going to wash the car.

My reply,
"I did yesterday"

A nice coat of grime should protect the bodywork from the ravages of salt as we head into deepest winter (in mid-November :inquisiti )

VR4 ownership - enjoy don't endure! (which in my minds eye equates to drive not polish!)
