Donnithorne Simms Mitsubishi (Christchurch) is doing my car at the moment

i was prepared to pay much (well, up to 300-400-500),
but these people keep surprising me:

they've just called and told me that it wont pass wof
(overdue) if i dont replace left lower arm
bolt joint & soemthing in steering - $600
in parts & labor.. so i'm afraid it is going to be
about $1k all together..

have clubvr4 members got any discount there?
please tell me yes :)

ok.. :)

i'm not doing break fluid / coolant as it was done not long time ago so i hope that would make things not as bad as normal C service

I spent a little over $1,000 on my "C" service. It included changing the AYC fluids, Trans fluids and some minor repairs.

so looks like actual C service was quite cheap
those WOF repairs are more then 60% of the price

HOLY CRAP!

that is ALOT of money for that stuff dude. do you *have* to get it done there to keep your warranty or do you just need the C service stuff done there and you can do the rest yourself?

i usually do normal service at the local garage but i thought i'd better do sofisticated (?) C service at authorised dealer

my C service was about $400, I got all the fluids changed as well. Obviously something does need to be replaced on your car so it is a little differant, it sounds like the part might be quite cheap though.

I got a "B" service at Mitsubishi New Market a couple of months ago, and the mechanics found the Lower Ball Joints were worn. I gave them $250 - $350 for their troubles, plus the cost of the service.

And that's on the Family discount!

Going for my "C" service sometime this week at Mitsubishi New Market, so it will be interesting to see how much the bill is this time.

dreamer, be very careful when you are going into their driveway, they are redoing it, and it is quite bad at the moment. I was there last week with my car, and today I'm taking it down to Ohlsens :D

so from $994 i paid there
$250 were for left & right rack end & left ball joint
$126 were for tie rod (steering)
+ all normal service/wof stuff & labour

i've checked their report with service schedule sheet (someehre in members area) and i'm not sure if they did several things like Check HT leads (what is it anyway?:)
or Check transfer box oil level or Check A/T oil level
or Check/Reset engine idle speed or Check drive shafts and gaiters

I reacon! It's nasty. I got caught by it when i was picking up the Evo 9 last week. (Did I mention I had a loan of the Evo 9 for a couple of days? :) )

What are you doing down at Ohlsens Brad?
Maintainance or upgrades??

HI,
You guys probably know (but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere here) the lower ball joints were a recall item and mitsy fixed them, parts and labour for free if your car was affected, ask your mitsy dealer to check your chassis number for recalls and they will tell you what is needing done and organise it for you, cheers Louis
