Too much ATF??

Can too much ATF cause any significant running issues?, I checked mine this morning after it had warmed up, and, the level seems to be over the full marker on the dipstick.....I only ask as when travelling at normal speed, I press the pedal, it kicks down, then when I let off the car seems to buck a little every now and again, not too drastic, just enough to worry me that the box is on the way out :)
