Last night on the street outside our flats a visitor to my friends flat had the roof stolen off her MGF!!!! Obviously the roof was removable, the stereo was also taken for good measure, and other items went missing. The thieves screwed the electrics completely and I was woken at 12:30 as the recovery transporter arrived.

:speechles

Only a couple of weeks ago an Audi TT was seperated from it's wheels, and days before that we were left an abandoned Escort in the car park. WTF! Another flat owners MGF was targetted on numerous occassions over the years until he gave up on owning them. :embarasse

The confident thieves weren't too concerned about twenty bedroom windows facing out onto the road!!! The Audi was parked under a street lamp; the thieves tampered with the electric supply to the lamp and began working.

TAKE CARE OUT THERE!

THIS (http://www.hoot-uk.com/content/news/archive/mitsubishi/2001/21032001-1.html) was the first thing I found when I started searching for info on the VR4s nearly three years ago now!

But you're right

Sounds like the roof was nicked to order and the radio was taken because they could. Most thieves are opportunistic though, so i wouldn't worry too much about the VR4, they'll have a look, see the security and move on to something easier.

Unless someone wants your particlular car, then you're screwed.

Get one of those audible alarms that gives a warning when people get too close, good fun in the pub car park too.

My TVR loves them too, my record has been setting 10 alarms off on various floors in an NCP in Manchester just by driving past em! :smug:
