Ive contacted this guy to see if we can get it any cheaper, if its a VR4 owners club then we should have a VR4.

One of you needs to be a member (I am :thumbsup: ) - Darin and Terry from the MLR were telling us about this at the hotel last week - sounds like a fun weekend.

Saw picks of the intended hog roast - that looked like a good reason to go anyway (albeit a very long way from home for us).

The MLR would really like us to enter a team /yes - probably so they can thrash us like they do on tarmac /pan

Brian (H7) mentioned that there's a similar event in America where you can spend as much or as little on your car, but anyone is entitled to buy it at the end /grr

Although if this were cheaper it could be a good bet! Light, Mivec engined and 4WD! Just need to borrow one of your mahoosive turbos!!

Mo has picked up v6 galants for £50 - whack on a supercharger and we could have some fun.

Or get a cheap 4wd car and really go nuts.

However - there is a warning - PROJECT VX

If the tracks on grass then a front wheel drive car will handle better especially if it's wet. 4wd is still the better option though ..

im not the person to ask about the engine but for a grass track FWD and lightweight is the way forward......

quick note....me and my co-pilot james went to a rally school last year and of the RWD bmw 320, 4WD escort cossie and a FWD Suzuki Swift, the swift was the quickest around the bendy bits..... once it got going!!!!, no denying that 4WD would be best but is it possible for the money?

i have seen a 4WD galant for £695 on autotrader recently........

were going to need a car that doesn`t require too much work... project vx is at the back of my mind. I do like the look of that old lancer if its a runner, but the starion looks the better option for minimal work.

So with my morning Stupidity put to 1 side. Have you verified that you are ok to submit a team without being a Member.. Reason i am asking is that they said they were going to top the ammount of team entrants at 40 and it's now at 46, so if they were going to trim the list down i'm sure they would start with NON Payed Up Members ??

The MLR doesn't seem to differentiate between a registered user and a paid up member.. As soon as you register it says MLR Member.. Unless it's got something to do with Junior users and senior users that is shown near the avatars..

It does - look at Dereks post - there is no 'MLR Member' under his name.

Anyhow - you will need three fully paid up members per team to enter the MLR 500 /yes
