Having slept on it, I think provided the price doesn't massively increase beyond the current, It will become a donor car for my own Pap-Pap :embarasse ....

Unless someone wants to take up the challenge of preserving another slice of the Galant's history!! /yes /yes

Buy it as a runner, abuse it on the MLR 500 and then steal the mechanicals for your poncy old car!

Best of both worlds!!

Okay, how's about this for a plan?

I'll buy 'Goldie' as she's known and bring it back to KieranCorp Towers (because I've been a good boy and got on with housey things I have some bargaining chips)

I'll take out the engine that I need, plus the things that you won't need on the MLR 50, such as the original light clusters and Instrumentation, trim, etc.

You boys can then have the car for Free, which will ease my conscience about buying such a lovely old car and just raping it and dumping it. And that gives you a a super lightweight, stripped car (remember these cars only weighed about 980kg when fully decked out) that just needs a suitable engine dropping in it and then we can make sure the old girl goes out in a blaze of glory!!!!

Sound good?

You better get her something nice for Christmas, and do the dinner/pots/cleaning/ironing/foot rubbing for a month or two.

How goes the Cappo search, that could be the answer to your debt, buy her a car!!

Okay.... /help :embarasse

'Goldie' as she's apparently known, is now property of Kieran. Well, not yet, but you know what I mean

Plan is, it's still got some MOT left (I think) so I'll travel down, tax it for 6mths and then all being well I shall drive it gently back. I will either travel down by train, or I am more than happy to take a passenger with me and they can escort me back - provided you have suitable insurance cover and are happy to drive my VR-4. Or maybe I could borrow MO's Transit trailer thingy (that Derek used to get his Legnum to Santa Pod)? :inquisiti

At least that's the plan. If the car's not suitable for such a journey, then I think it will be panic stations and a call to BDA to see if I can either pilfer his towbar, or something!!! /help

Once Goldie arrives at KieranCorp Towers, she will be relieved of her engine and bits that I will struggle to replace in the event that they get damaged, so that's headlamps, tail lamps and trim mainly. Obviously to get the engine out I will need a crane and some help. And I will need it quickly as I can't store her forever - otherwise Alex will be a bit /grr /grr /pan with me! /help

She has said that she will drive Goldie when she arrives, just out of interest and because it really won't matter too much if she prangs it (provided she doesn't bust the motor!).

In all seriousness I could use a hand here, especially with the collection of the car and such, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want her, she's all yours Dave... Free (subject to needing a towbar ;) ) - Are you thinking of a mental Jap Drag machine like those at Santa Pod? :evil2:
