Aaaaah.... Bliss. :smug:

Finally, I have some standard Alloys on the car - Man that looks SO much better. - Cheers Bern, well worth the trip.

I do see what you mean about the decidedly iffy grip!! Even gentle curves have lit one AYC light every now and again. However having read up on those tyres, which are badged as 'Turanzas' in Eurpoe, they're a comfort oriented tyre rather than a performance one - and also they will need changing soon.

Not sure what to go for. I really want a tyre to quell road noise rather than anything else, so we'll see....

i would go for some hydragrip's my dad fitted some to his mazda six ( you think we suffered with road noise ) as a replacement for the standard bridgestones , bugger they have some grip and they are quite , very quite in fact  they are top of my list for the V6 next year

Kieran, didn't you like the style of the old mags on the car? Do you have any pics of them?

Kumho KU31. These come in at £60 a corner and have fantastic reviews.

Kumho KH11. These are less performance oriented, but also have fantastic reviews. A bit more comfort/low noise. They're a couple of quid more though.

The car used to have TSW 'Pace' alloys on. I want the stock JDM look as far as I can for the exterior.

As for tyres - I went for Dunlop SP Sport01. Look very similar to the KH11. Very pleased so far.

I know that the SP200 was the OEM fit tyre on my 98 GLS. However, I went to P6000s from them, and KH15s from the 6000s (and the KH15s pee all over the P6000, despite being significantly cheaper).

Think my car could do with a full geometry work up...

I had P6000's on my first V6. Bag of poo. Changed to Firestones (half the price) which improved noise, handling, ride and grip. I think that was because the P6000's are poo, not because the Firestones were brilliant.

I noticed your wheels Kieran. It does give the car a fresh out of the factory look. But does it not bother you that you are the only one who wants to put original wheels back on the car?!

I just did a search for your old wheels Kieran, and I think they looked great. You should be able to sell them quite easily through the club

Also agree that the TSW really suited the car.... They looked larger than 16s...

Are your standard alloys polished up? Pix? :D

I've got Kieran's old TSW's sitting in the back yard if anyone's interested, although I don't have the centre caps for them. Haven't decided what to do with them yet, so let me know if you need some wheels.
