sup all
what material is better to use for an exhaust system, stainless steel or mild steel?
also what has a better sound because i have heard that stainless steel can give a tinnier noise like more high pitch or sumthing.
cheers

Hi, don't know how things stand in NZ but here in good old blighty a SS exhaust can be had for £329 fitting included, cat back. This is fabricated on the car for you (takes a 1/2 day). They use a muffler system (straight through) rather than a baffle system used by OE exhaust. This is good for gas speed but tends to be noisier. It is said that stainless steel is harsher in tone and I would agree with this, however, as the exhaust builds up carbon this effect is softened, I've noticed a softening in a week! perhaps those who have had one longer could comment on the long term effects? The advantge of having it fabricated is:
a) cost £329 fitted against £590 plus fitting for Mitzi.
b) Lasts for ever, guaranteed as long as you own the car!
c) custom tuned for noise, if you don't like the noise they'll add another baffle for free!
Hope this helps
