They look indentical to the Recaro's in my VR4 (not a Super) - is there a difference ?

I was going to ask you for yours soon Osiris, I wanted to put those into the back of my car, but $800 is a little steep. I think 4 recaro's would be damned cool!

While they are very very rare for prefacelift cars, they are standard in facelift cars, mine has them, Uc's has them and I think one of Xeriod's cars has them as well. So they aren't very rare at all ;)

Didn't know that :|

Name your price?

I don't know at this stage, to be honest I need to investigate if it is even possible to put the Recaro's into the back, I don't know if it would work at this stage. I need to look into that first, then decide. They are the same colour and everything as mine though, which is quite nice.

Of course I'm not in NZ at the moment to check anyway, I need to get back and rip out all the seats to see if it will work. Let me get back to you, you should be able to sell them fairly quickly at a fairly high price anyway.

**** that would be cool and I would imagine they were possible. You wouldn't need factory rails if you fabricated your own mounting bracket which would affix to the original back seat foam cushion location. The back seats won't need rails as they won't need to slide back and forth.

Will they fit straight into a pre-facelift VR4 or do they need different rails?

Having almost the same seats in my car I highly recommend these. Maybe no one is really interested in some new seats till next year?

I am a bit tempted, I must admit :P Buggered if I know what I'd do with the original seats though.

If you've still got them after I get back from New Years (coming back on the 2nd) I'd be interested in taking a look (especially if they fit in with minimum fuss and expense /yes). Where in Akld are you?

ShadyNZer might be able to shed some light on how hard they are to install as he brought the last pair Osiris sold.

I might be interested in them as well, just got to check out my finances, bad time of year to buy things :)

These would be better off in someone's car rather than sitting here in my room. I'm tempted to make extremely expensive set of computer desk chairs. lol.

$500 -021 588 746

That's $250 per seat. How much cheaper can you get?!

I can vouch for their comfort and how well they hold ya in with the adjustable sides. Very secure. The Legnum has them.

Sorry guys, but at 9.30am I threw money at Osiris so they are officially mine. Only took me two years to find some. Now, who has a recaro back seat (red) for sale?
This afternoon I pulled the rails off the standard seats to see if they could be swapped over, but its such a mismatch it would be a nightmare. What I'm going to do now is phone mitsubishi in the morning and see if you can purchase the proper rails. Will keep you posted.

That would be the best and easiest way to go. Having the exact rails will ensure the sealts bolt in without any hassles :)

Hehe, now that's over... those of you who still want a set of Recaro's can have mine for nz$900 + shipping from Chch, includes rails. Actually has airmatic lumbar support instead of the leaver thingy, and the left squeezy bulb thing has a hole in it. Just like the bulb on a sphigmamometer thingy. Havn't bothered getting another one, as it still works and it the passenger side.

Wowowow $900 :D

Good luck! There are some people that have been searching high and low however so you should get what you're asking for including rails :)

Freddy has kept me updated on the situation. From memory his call to Mitsubushi was something like $600+ per set of rails. Needing 2 sets, 1 for passenger, 1 for driver seat ;)

Kempy's didn't have any in stock.

So Freddy has purchased the Evo 5 rails that I was selling seperate in his master plan to adapt the Evo 5 rails to the Legnum, as the rails match up to the seats :)

Yea what I meant was that he's on to it as he bought the Evo 5 rails I was also selling and he's going to adapt them to fit the Legnum :)

Freddy

Looks like its going to work. If I can figure out how to seperate the sliding part that bolts to the floor out of my legnum rail and slide it in the evo rail it will work.
Just have to see whats stopping it coming out, looks like a rivet that will drill out easily enough. All the components between the two rails are identical. I will attack it tomorrow.

Freddy

BTW that was $640.00 inc PER RAIL (you need four) from Mitsi in Japan landed here. Thats $2560.00. /pan

Does the seat bolt to the Lancer rails? If so (it should) then all you'll have to do is adapt the rails to fit the car, which is what Freddy is doing.

Recaros are now in. I used evo 5 rails with some mods using legnum standard seat rails. Leaving the evo rails on the Recaros I did the following.
Outboard rails: Drill out the rivets holding the bottom plates on the evo & legnum rails and swap the evo plate for the legnum plate. Bolt together with M8 bolts (2), these fit where there were once rivets. Also need to unbolt the rails from the seat and drill new holes in the rail plate 25mm over so the rails are 25mm wider apart.
Inboard rails: Hacksaw/bash off the back mounting plate from the evo rail. Unbolt (2 bolts) adapter plate from legnum rail (rear end) place onto evo rail and bolt on. I would recommend these get welded for more strength once you have them bolted together.
Seat should now just drop on Legnum mounting points.
