I have checked the firewall and it's not blocking at work, so not sure what this could be... for argument sake, I even tried to visit some porn sites and it was successful too!!! (shhhhh...)
Anyone know whether the VR4 forum server would block my work address?

Noticed that this has been moved... sorry, might have been the wrong section... apology :oops:
Anyway... was browsing away last week and all of a sudden it keeps saying "cannot find website" when I click on the favourite... Thought the forum went down or something. Only to receive a PM from Pezza (Email notification), but still can't access the site. Went home and noticed that no one has mentioned anything about the forum had gone down... so thought it could have been the work firewall, but checked today with the administrator and he confirmed that he has not placed any block on any sites...
So not sure what's wrong, but I could not access the site. I tried pinging the site with the url, and it returned the ip address, but timed out. Hence, I thought that it doesn't look like the firewall has blocked access to it, so asked to see whether the forum server would block the ip address for my workplace.

nah, the ip wouldnt be blocked at server level.
I have blocked several ip's, but if it was one of them, you still get to the site, but you receive a message saying your blocked.

Odd, so this wasnt a one off? each time youve tried, on several different days it fails?

He's a good friend of mine, so shouldn't be a problem... the symptom seems as though the site could not be found (or forum down), so I thought it might well be the work firewall after all. Are there any settings my browser could be set to try? if you know what I mean LOL

not now, but I will double check tomorrow... if you wish, I could pm you the ip address, but I will double check with admin tomorrow. He should have a list somewhere. Just hope that he doesn't find the porn sites that I visited... LOL

Tried it again today, and still the same... :embarasse got the guys to check the firewall and there are no rules for visiting this site... :embarasse
I guess I will probably have to check out the site when I'm home now :embarasse:embarasse:embarasse

I cant access the site when i VPN into work (can browse other sites ok) cant find anything firewall related to block the site either /Hmmm

works fine as long as the VPN is off /Hmmm
