Awww. I'm working early Monday so it's a no-go for me. Realistically, it is a bit far for an overnight trip anyway so maybe next time if it ties in with a wk/end off or summat.

Would have been a chance to scope out the goodies before I buy.:inquisiti

Coffee?!?! Nobody mentioned I'd miss out on the coffee!!!:rolleyes4

Anyway it wouldn't seem far in a VR4, (almost legal) time travel, and think of those lovely roads along the way.

Ians BMW looks superb, especially with its "additional" lighting /yes and it was fun to get a paasenger run in Scotts Integra - changing up at 9500 revs is something to hear!!!

forgot to take some pics - had camera in the car - doh!

'Twas indeed a nice day out. I'm still running things through in my head, but if I go for a 4wd turbo, I'm now leaning more towards the VR4 over an RSK than I was before. Unless I can get an old Legacy Turbo (McRae-era) like this one (http://legacy.manxforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2477), of course, but I think chances of that are rare...

Still placing usernames to faces:

Iain = Krautmobile :joker:
strangebat = Yan = my chauffeur. /Steeringw
Ritch_W = early bird in the burgundy V6 :happy:
Louis = lowered Legnum with the D2s :thumbsup:
Axeboy = Scott = treated us all to tea 'n' baps. Clearly, running an ITR after a VR4 has made him feel a bit flush. :chugchug:

That's all correct?

Scott's idea of getting the 7G (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12683&page=3&pp=20) isn't bad. Face up to a VR4's running costs while keeping the initial purchase price low. I'd also be more amenable to stripping out an older car like that than a big 8G I've just paid £5000+ for.

Trouble is, I...errr...well, basically I think Tony's car's a bit pig ugly with the pseudo off-road kit and two-tone paintjob. I was wondering how simple it'd be to turn it into a regular-looking Galant by scavenging bodywork, bumpers etc from a donor car like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4604983154&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT) (although obviously a 5dr would be better)? Am I being too ambitious, or would that be straightforward?

Anyway, thanks for being a friendly and obliging bunch.

Regards,
G (and Mhairi)

Robert.
Well.... I didn't own one when I wrote that!

Sourcing servicing was well down the to-do list but now it's a reality. I suppose I'll tackle the minor ones myself. Otherwise it's Inverness, 120m away. The local guys are not getting anywhere near my new baby.

Sorry the timing was off or I could have been at the meet, got my VR4 the weekend after - off DJ so I was just round the corner really.
