Join me in my quest.....

If I have a standard 97 Legnum VR4 and £1000 to spend on making it go faster what should I buy?

Not interested in NOS.

Have the bodykit and wheels sorted I think.

Just want more power.... where do I go from here?

forget the bodykit & wheels, go for stealth ! /yes
de-cat, HKS induction, unichip, free flowing exhaust.
that should take you over 300bhp, for less than a grand. /Steeringw

I got mine fitted at nobles in chesterfield. not cheap @ £560, but it included a full rolling rd re-map, & with the other basic mods I did, I recorded 333bhp. :smug: :smug:

What about an inter-cooler. The standard ones are rubbish!

I was born in chesterfield......

Moved to the grim north at an early age though but still know the area quite well....

You could get a manual boost controller, air filter (make sure you make a cold air box for it) and an exhaust and be well under £1000 and you would get quite a nice performance increase.

the standard ones are brilliant and better than anything you could buy for the size.

Yeah the stock ones are quite good, if Mitsubishi made them silver in the first place, I think very few people would upgrade them ;) A full size 600x300x76 is going to be better though, but probably not required until you've done other mods.

I'd agree with Brad on that...

Nobles is on Chatsworth Rd Ie the Brampton Mile on the left hand side

The Unichip is a remap of your ECU to match the mods you have done, I would recommend that this is done once you have a decat fitted, free flowing exhaust and maybe a manual/electronic boost controller... you should see v.good power gains close to the figures quoted by SGHOM/Derek
