didn't go colder - just ensured the gap was right.

normally the plugs i buy dont seem to have the right gap out of the box. makes a big difference in turbo cars.

Ran Stock platinum plugs and 0.95 bar here for past 6 months... (back at standard boost currently - temporarily :D)

Did you have any problems running 0.95? Or did it take it in its stride :D

well only time will tell... but have had no problems so far... :anxious: (I have only been able to stay at .95 without fuel cut reverting back to standard air intake and airbox...)

Hmmm while we are on this topic, what is a safe boost level for a standard VR4?

about 1 bar seems to be safe, but the turbos won't be able to hold that all the way to the redline, probably about .8 or .9 by 6500rpm.

Can anyone recommend a reliable but cheap (value for money) boost controller?

Thanks :)

A $2 Brass T-piece from any air fittings shop. Drill it out to whatever ends up being 13psi and I can guarantee it'll never change :D

Failing that buy something electronic with feedback. Otherwise you're wasting your money.

Happy to sell you a Turbosmart or GFB single stage controller for like $100ish though if you want!

Plugs issue - Never found a need to go to a colder plug. ABIM was right, just gap them to around .6-.7mm (about 25thou) and you should never have ignition issues.
