can any body tell me (kieran will proberly know this 1) what is the biggest tyre that can be fitted to a standard sport wheel without any problems. at present i have 215/45/17

I am relatively sure that the rim is 7" wide. So the question becomes what is the widest tyre you can fit to a 7 x 17 rim?

These reckon 215 is the widest for a 7" rim.

Don't take that as gospel! I'd talk to a few tyre places and see what they say.
