View Full Version : Preliminary Japfest Thread!

Last years event was Fekkin Awesome. Wet track in the morning, Dry in the afternoon. Coombe is a cracking circuit and not too difficult to drive safely.

Last years thread is here (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6385&page=1&pp=20) if you are new to the club and want to know what all the fuss is about. Or check out their website here (http://www.japfest.co.uk/).

This is just a thread to determine popularity and to whet your appetites. Last year we had 18 on the stand and approx 14 cars on track. THIS YEAR WE WANT MORE!!!!!

I can't guarantee costs at the moment, but I am hoping we can set them at:
Track time - £30 per session for members, £35 pounds per session for non-members. We are planning to book two club track sessions and give a £5 discount for anyone who books for both. If the sessions are full, cost could come down to as low as £25 per session, which is fantastic value for a one club session!
Entry tickets are £14 on the gate - We can sell these for £9 to members or £11 to non-members. One per adult is required.

I will book the stand for 25 cars and a marquee. Get your names down quickly! Sorry, non-members, but members will have first dibs on stand space. Non-members will go on a reserve list and any spaces left after a given period will be given to those who put their names down first.

Any questions, ask!

Last year we abused the Ibis in Swindon on friday and saturday night - I guess this year we could be doing the same!!

Please shout out your interest now - I need to have an idea as to whether the quantities I have planned for are about right.

We will be selling tickets through the club. This thread is to register interest - the event is massive and getting bigger every year. In the next month or so we will be selling tickets here, and the entry tickets will be cheaper than you can get them from the organisers!

Not at all!! My GLS and my V6 Sport were proudly displayed! I think it's good that people see that there are cheaper and more practical options than the loony VR-4!

Nick! Book this man a stand space!

IIRC, get there in the morning and can't leave before 16:00. They don't like unnecessary car movement whilst there are lots of people wandering about.

JJ, have added you to the list - this thread is to get an idea of numbers, not to force people into a permanent decision! /yes

Barry - sorry! Completely missed you first post! :embarasse /pan

Me Me Me Me Me Me Me !!!!

(At least) two track sessions, a stand pass, and one ticket for starters, possibly two. Cheers Nick

This was an awesome event last year, wet and dry as Nick said - perfect for getting an understanding of how your car reacts in all conditions.

Those of you who've never been on track before, think VERY hard before turning down this opportunity. We're a sensible lot, and if we get enough people the sessions will be just us as well. Get your name down, you're under no pressure to keep up with the Combe elite like Simon, Heath, Graham, and Paul, just use it as the opportunity to drive your car as fast or as slow as you want and understand just how great the AYC works.
