has anyone else noticed the amount of pressure that is released when you remove the fuel filler cap ? or is it just mine ?

I get the same a big WHOOSH
Most newer cars dont have a overfill pipe the tank is pressurised

i think you are confused with vacuum , i'm on about positive pressure i think del is also on about the pressure............the pressure to keep filling up a VR4 tank/pan /pan /pan /pan
Mine is in vacuum when I fill up... undo the cap and there's a "pssscccchhhh" as the air flows into the tank. I'm sure positive pressure isn't good...

mine dosn't whooosh, ever, but, then again, I don't have to screw mine off. It has a spring loaded little flap in the middle of the cap....just push the pump nozzle in and thats it :)

Same here - all my Galants have been like it. Thought there would be an overflow pipe to equalise pressure - surely the fuel pump will have to work harder to draw against vacuum?
Well, the vacuum doesn't seem to vary whether I've used half a tank or 95% of the tank. I guess there's a valve that lets it get to a certain vacuum level (safety reason?) but then any additional pressure causes the valve to let some air flow. Or I could be wrong...
