FBI performance mods can do that... They are in auckland and Hamilton. you could also try FortyOne Performance. www.fortyone.co.nz

installation/certed & alignment alone would cost $600+

your only option is the get some from Trade me and get them installed, but you'd be lucky to find them for the $600 you'd need to pay, as stated, certing alone will be $450, then fitting, if done properly on scales etc, then there goes your budget already.

If its a straight replacement strut, then i would say do it your self, i swapped mine last year on my old car, and had no idea, and no experience, the whole lot took about 5 hours, but if you know what your doing, i would say 2/3 (took off more than i needed to, and was being super careful) .Then it was $60 for the alignment (didn't actually need it) and $350 odd for the cert.

actually everytime you change suspension you need an alignment, the point is that you need a cert, and $1300 is not enough to cover what is required.

Thats what i was told, but when i got it done, they changed almost nothing?? obviously there were some big camber changes, but everything else was fine... Still a good idea to get it checked tho.

There are still some occasionally good secondhand coilover deals on trademe, but i agree that $1300 will be pushing it for something new.

I also found that i never bothered adjusting them much, mainly just for towing, but i would make sure you want the hassle of the cert, you could just look at getting some adjustable dampers?

Try 41.co.nz for new coilovers, especially Daiyama. There's options from $980 to $1370. 1 year warranty. The big benefit Daiyama has over D2's or K-Sports (which are D2's) is that Daiyama MAKE their coilovers, D2 and K-Sport BUY theirs and rebrand them. We've sold a lot of sets to Honda owners, a few to Toyota owners and a few to Mistubishi owners - mostly Evolution. You can also choose the default spring rates with any new coilover, from 2kg-20kg.

Their value-for-money is far greater than D2's.

I can do the D2's for $1400 to CVR4 members.

The daiyama may make their own - but there's no harm in something being re-branded. If someone is willing to put their name on it, its for good reason. Hundreds of companies do it, and it makes no difference to the product at the end of the day.

I'm not going to start an argument about what is better than something else - but the D2's have a great name for themselves for a reason.

No argument intended. Support and warranty lines with brands who manufacturer their own parts are far richer than those who do not.

Actually I told a fib earlier, Galant EC5W IIE coilovers (height adjustable only) are on sale for $875 and IIE-G EC5W coilovers (height and damper adjustable) are $1025.

is that ride height AND spring pre-load adjustment, or just the spring platforms? (which do both pre-load and height at the same time)

Just the spring platforms. You can always run with different springs as we can supply these optionally (i.e. hard set up for drag, medium set up for track, soft springs for road..)

Cheers.

I currently have platform adjustable suspension and would much prefer to be able to adjust the height and pre-load seperatly.
This is because spring rate and pre load are not the same thing. Preload is nessecary to remove static sag but maintain a comfortable (at least comfortable enough...) ride.

Yep understood. Comfortable is always relative =D

lol
Yeah, for me it is usually relative to how full my bladder is! Nothing worse than to be busting and feeling every small bump in the road.
