I'm toying with trying to improve my new 7G VR4 Sports GT without going overboard.
Right now, it looks like this (protective eyewear recommended):
Various pics of car (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/626256)
Closer view (http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/626000-626999/626256_1_full.jpg)
Close up of the alloys (http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/626000-626999/626256_16_full.jpg)
Specs are: 205/60R15 OEM wheels and tyres, 4x114.3 PCD, 35-42mm offset (that's the closest I could get to exact info).
Now, I found this eBay auction for Rover 620 alloys (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8034609288) (also fits Hondas, of course), 16" diameter with 205/55R16 Goodyears, which is the correct rolling radius for me. They have the same PCD and a 50mm offset. I tried a bit of crude photochopping, and they look OK on the vehicle. Not exactly uberblingy chromed BBS 19" split rims, but then again the current bid is only £71 including delivery, and I'm a cheapskate.
I just want to confirm whether the alloys will be closer to the hubs or further away (i.e. stick out of the arches less, or more) because the offset is 50mm instead of 38-42mm? Also, I'm assuming that such a small variation in the offset from what it should be is perfectly OK?
Regards,
G
